On July 1-3, the "2023 China Intelligent Vehicle Conference and National Intelligent Vehicle Development Forum" co-sponsored by the Information Science Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Chinese Association of Automation was held in Guangzhou Nansha Binhai International Conference Center. Lv Jiming , our CTO, was invited by the  fifth electronic research institute of MIIT. Attended the Intelligent Driving Safety Technology Forum and made a report "Research on intelligent driving test technology based on the whole vehicle traffic environment in the loop system".

With the theme of "Intelligent Interaction Drives the Future", Nanning Zheng , Hongke Zhang, Changjun Jiang ,Ping Zhang and other academicians gathered to discuss intelligent vehicle technology and industrial development plans, a number of special forums and intelligent vehicle exhibitions such as connected intelligent vehicles and autonomous driving safety, and to build an interconnected ecological exchange platform for the whole industrial chain.

More than 500 colleagues from the academic and industrial circles of intelligent vehicles and related fields gathered to carry out ideological collision and in-depth exchanges, jointly look forward to the cutting-edge trends in the field of intelligent vehicles, and explore the road to technological empowerment industry upgrading.

 Among them, in the intelligent driving safety technology forum carried out on July 3, Jiming Lv, CTO of our company, published the theme report of "Research on intelligent driving test technology based on the whole vehicle traffic environment in the loop system".

Summary of our thematic report:

· Introduce the problems and challenges faced by intelligent driving safety testing;

· Shortcomings of existing test methods and technologies;

· The composition principle of the vehicle traffic environment in the loop system and the supplement to the existing test technology;

· Application status and future trend of vehicle traffic environment in the loop system in solving expected functional safety testing and verification.

CTO Jiming Lv said in the report that with the development of the industry, the automatic driving system only needs to meet the specific functional requirements of the L2, and the subsequent expansion to the functional requirements of various scenarios such as conditional automatic driving (so-called "L3") or highly automatic driving (L4) systems, which need to meet the functional requirements of various scenarios, will lead to the number of scenarios for car testing and verification to increase exponentially.

In addition, the actual scene has complexity, randomness and uncertainty due to the variability of weather, road, traffic participants, working conditions and other factors, and the complexity of testing and verification will also increase greatly, which also poses a great challenge to the test system.

How to use the limited indoor space for testing, while build a richer environment and scenes, effectively solve the pain points in high-level automatic driving test verification and certification?

According to the report, our self-developed vehicle traffic Environment in the Loop System Solution (VTEHIL) integrates existing proven equipment and measurement technology to significantly improve the efficiency of Euro NCAP and C-NCAP scenario testing, and flexibly implement complex and dangerous scenarios consisting of multiple traffic participants and elements.

At present, the VTEHIL program has been gradually commercialized in many customer groups such as the School of Vehicle and Mobility,Tsinghua University and a famous OEM in China.
